Yun*chi is a pop icon connecting pop music and anisong to the creative scene. She was influenced by her music-loving parents, aspiring to become a vocalist, and began participating in many artists’ works and compilation albums before her debut.
In November 2012, her debut mini album “Yun*chi” won the grand prize at the Music Jacket Awards 2013.
Leveraging her Oriental looks, she also participated in JulieWatai’s collection “Hardware Girls” as a subject, and worked as a model for VANQUISH VENUS, Zippo girl, Graphic Girl, and more.
She appeared at HYPER JAPAN in London for two years in a row in 2013 and 2014. Since then, she has continued to refine her coquettish voice, and charmed audiences all across the globe from SXSW2016 in Austin, Texas, to Myanmar, Jakarta, New York, Malaysia, Taiwan, and more.
She performed the ending theme songs “Your song*” and “Wonderful Wonder World*” for the first and second season of the anime “Log Horizon”, and made a voice appearance in the second season as a girl in the town of Saphir. On July 15, 2015, she performed the theme song “Lucky Girl*” of the third season of the anime “Wooser’s Hand-to-Mouth Life”.
In August 2017, she released her mini album “Canvas*”, which contained her first ever song with a Japanese title. With this album, not only did she write some of the lyrics, she even tried her hand at composing.
On May 31, 2018, “Godzilla no Tameiki” saw a limited physical release, and sold out immediately.
In recent years, she has been performing a lot of acoustic and band concerts.
The asterisk in her artist name is a reference to the glitter-like dust trail that pixies leave behind, sparkling and shining almost like little stars.
